| On Sunday April 15th, 2012 at 1524 hours the Westwood Fire Company, West End Fire Company for an Engine, Sadsburyville Fire Company for an Engine and a full size Tanker from the East Brandywine Fire Company were dispatched to the unit block of West Tenth Avenue in Valley Township for a house fire.
A call to 911 reported a deck on fire to the rear of the structure. Coatesville Deputy Chief Dobson arrived on location at 1529 hours with light smoke showing.
Engine 31-1 responded at 1529 hours with Deputy Chief Supplee and a crew of 5 Firefighters.
Westwood Assistant Chief Scott arrived on location at 1530 hours and reported smoke showing from a 2 story single family dwelling and established West Tenth Avenue Command.
Engine 43 arrived on location and deployed a line to the rear of the structure to put out the fire in the area of the deck and rear doorway. The fire was quickly knocked down.
Westwood Engine 44-5 arrived on location at 1533 hours and crews began to check for extensions of fire into the structure. Negative results were found.
Engine 31-1 arrived on location at 1536 hours and put their positive pressure fan in service at the door on side A of the structure to force the smoke out of the structure.
At 1537 hours the fire was placed under control and the assignment was reduced and held.
Sadsburyville units cleared the scene at 1600 hours. |
