| On April 9th, 2012 volunteers from the Modena-Sadsburyville-Wagontown-Westwood Fire Companies conducted an annual hazardous materials operations level refresher.
The first class, which was held on March 27th, was the Hazardous Materials Awareness refresher. This class, the Operations level, continued with more in-depth information and procedures.
The class was presented by Instructor Lindenlauf of the Chester County Department of Emergency Services who is a Hazardous Materials Technician.
Attendees reviewed how to identify potentially hazardous materials, as well as establishing evacuation thresholds, and basic containment procedures.
The class also reviewed the operation of multi-gas meters, which each attending station regularly deploys at emergency calls.
The Sadsburyville Fire Company would like to thank Instructor Lindenlauf and our Mutual Aid companies for their attendance and Westwood Fire Company for hosting the training at their facility. This continues our strong working relationship with these agencies both in training and at emergency scenes. |
