At 2108 hours on February 20th, 2015 the Sadsburyville Fire Company and Westwood EMS were dispatched to the Route 30 bypass eastbound west of Old Wilmington Road in Sadsbury Township for an auto accident. Two minutes after the initial dispatch the assignment was upgraded to entrapment adding the Westwood and Wagontown Fire Companies.

Chief Grossman arrived on location at 2115 hours reporting a two vehicle accident with a tractor trailer on its side and established Bypass Command. After further investigation it was determined there were three patients, fortunately all three of Westwood Ambulances were already responding, and confirmed entrapment in the tractor trailer.

Rescue 35 and Rescue 44 were redirected to South Bonsall School Road for the rescue operation as that road had better access. Engine 31-1 arrived at 2118 on the westbound bypass and provided scene lighting and began the rescue process.

Sadsburyville, Wagontown and Westwood Firefighters worked diligently to open the tractor trailer for patient packaging. Extrication was complete at 2147 hours.

Wagontown Fire Police shut down the westbound bypass at Airport Road for the duration of the incident.

The incident was mostly in West Caln Township, Rescue 35 remained on the scene assisting the tow company and command was turned over to Wagontown Deputy Chief Reber.
