By Fire Chief Adam Grossman
June 10, 2016

On June 10th, 2016 at 1951 the company was dispatched for an outbuilding fire in the 900 block of Old Wilmington Road in the Pomeroy Heights section of Sadsbury Township. Engine 31-1 marked enroute at 1955 with a crew of 4 firefighters.

Within minutes Westwood Chief McWilliams was on location reporting a trash pile on fire. With this information Battalion Chief Brecht arrived and held the assignment to the first two engines on the street.

Engine 31-1 arrived and led off with the trash hose line and extinguished the large trash pile. The fire was a controlled burn but due to its size and in close proximity to exposures, the fire was put out.

Sadsburyville, Westwood and Wagontown Fire Companies and Keystone Valley Fire Department answered the call for service. Approximately 15 firefighters were in service on scene.

Units: Engine 31-1, Engine 31-2, Chief 31, Deputy 31, Assistant 31, Battalion 31

Mutual Aid: Westwood and Wagontown FC, Keystone Valley FD
