At 0418 the company was dispatched to assist the Wagontown Fire Company for a building reported on fire in the 100 block of Water Works Road in West Caln Township. Additional companies answering the call were Coatesville, Coatesville VA, Westwood and Honey Brook.

Arriving within minutes Battalion Chief Sly reported an active fire from a roof top at the dispatched address. Engine 31-1, Engine 31-2 and mutual aid were all responding.

Engine 35 and Rescue 35 arrived first and stretched an 1-3/4" into the building to suppress the fire. Once inside firefighters encountered a moderate smoke condition and located a fire at the ceiling level near the center of the building. Ladder 41 set up to advance to the roof for vertical ventilation.

The fire was quickly knocked down and crews from Engine 31-1 began ventilation. Engine 31-2 stood by at a nearby hydrant for a water supply to the scene.

Since the fire was quickly under control a supply line was not needed. Engine 44-5 supplied tank water at the scene to Rescue 35 who was in service with a hand line.

Ambulances 44-1 and 144 stood by for civilian or firefighter injury and fortunately were not utilized.

Firefighters spent roughly 2 hours on scene before being released by Command, Wagontown Chief Ziegler.
