By Fire Chief Adam Grossman
January 1, 2018

As 2018 begins, we close another successful year at the Sadsburyville Fire Company in 2017. Our all volunteer work force had answered 186 calls in 2017 which led to countless hours of dedication away from their families and homes for our community.

Looking back on 2017, it was the 2nd busiest year for the company as far as responding to calls. We launched a fire police program and utility truck to carry the equipment required for that operation.

Furthermore, in the first quarter of the year we expanded on our rescue capabilities and purchased the necessary equipment to be considered a rescue truck in Chester County. This was significantly important as we handled or were first on scene of several extrications where our hydraulic rescue tools rescued people trapped in their cars.

We grew upon our fire prevention program providing education to over 500 children in local day cares, pre-schools and an elementary school. We made a special visit to a cub scout troop and a girl scout troop came to our station.

During the year we had an increase of certification levels with 3 firefighters testing out and passing Firefighter Level 1, 3 firefighters taking Basic Vehicle Rescue and 2 chief officers achieving Fire Officer level 2 certification.

In 2018 we look forward to expanding our services and improving our training and safety standards. Our fire/rescue services are a vital part of the safety and protection of the residents of Sadsbury Township and their property. Our officer staff and firefighters are dedicated to the logistics required to fulfill this mission.

Anybody interested in becoming a volunteer can email us at info@sfc31.com or stop by our station on a Monday night after 6:00PM.
