On Thursday December 10th, 2015 at 1201 hours the City of Coatesville and Veterans Affairs Fire Departments and the Thorndale and Modena Fire Companies were alerted for a structure fire in the 800 block of Merchant Street in the City of Coatesville. Numerous calls to 911 indicated a working fire, as well as two minutes after the time of dispatch Engine 43-1 arrived on location with heavy smoke showing.

Due to these reports a working fire dispatch was alerted bringing additional resources from Sadsburyville, Westwood, Minquas and Medic 93. Engine 31-1 made the response at 1212 hours with a crew of 6 firefighters.

Numerous lines went in service to extinguish the blaze that was quickly consuming numerous sections of the 2-1/2 story duplex. An additional alarm was struck for more manpower at the scene. The situation was brought under control at 1307 hours with all hands working.
