| At 8:38 PM on Monday, March 2, the Sadsburyville Fire Company and Wagontown Fire Company were dispatched to the westbound Route 30 bypass west of Airport Road for an auto accident. Westwood EMS and Keystone Valley EMS were also assigned to the call.
Deputy 31 arrived to find a two‑vehicle accident involving a passenger car blocking two lanes of the highway and a tractor trailer. The incident location was updated to fall within the 31 local box, and Company 35 was recalled with the exception of Traffic 35, which was assigned to shut down westbound traffic at Airport Road.
EMS evaluated those involved and transported patients requiring further medical attention. Fire units cleared the scene after the roadway was made safe.
At 9:27 PM, units were re-dispatched to the scene for a fuel leak coming from the tractor‑trailer. Haz‑Mat personnel deployed socks, pads, and absorbent to contain the active leak and prevent further spread.
The Sadsburyville Fire Company, powered entirely by volunteers, responded to five calls within a 24‑hour period, demonstrating continued commitment to community service. |
