| This evening, the Sadsburyville Fire Company was dispatched to Lincoln Highway in the area of First Avenue in Sadsburyville for an auto accident reported to be serious in nature. Multiple 9‑1‑1 callers reported a multi‑vehicle crash with a head‑on collision and possible entrapment involving several patients.
Engine 31 responded immediately at dispatch, as the crew was already out on a training assignment. Units arrived to find a two‑vehicle accident with confirmed entrapment. Firefighters deployed hydraulic rescue tools to gain access to the vehicles and begin extrication operations.
Assistant Chief Reynolds established Lincoln Highway Command, and additional transport ambulances along with advanced life support units were requested to assist with patient care.
At 20:21, extrication was marked complete, and all patients were removed from the vehicles and transferred to EMS for continued treatment and transport.
Fire Police shut down Lincoln Highway between Old Wilmington Road and General Lafayette Drive for the duration of the incident. |
